CINCINNATI, Dec. 21, 2010— Empower MediaMarketing announced today it has broadened its relationship with Herschend Family Entertainment (HFE), the nation’s largest family-owned theme park corporation, by adding integrated media planning and buying duties for Dollywood and its properties in Pigeon Forge, TN, and digital media planning and buying for Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO, to its roster. This builds on Empower’s current media responsibilities with HFE’s Stone Mountain Park and Wild Adventures Theme & Water Park, both in Georgia.

In Tennessee, Empower assumes comprehensive media planning and buying duties for Dollywood theme park, Dollywood’s Splash Country water park and for Dollywood Vacations, the company’s vacation planning service.  Located near the entrance of the nation’s most visited national park, the Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood offers more than 40 rides and attractions; award-winning live entertainment featuring country, bluegrass, gospel and mountain music; and a dozen crafters authentic to the East Tennessee region.  HFE is an operating partner with Dolly Parton in the Dollywood Company, which owns all the Dollywood properties.

Empower also assumes all digital media planning and buying duties for HFE’s Branson properties, Silver Dollar City (SDC), White Water and the Showboat Branson Belle. SDC is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary and was proclaimed “The Home of American Craftsmanship” by the U.S. Congress in 2010.  Located in the famed family vacation destination, Branson, SDC is an 1880s theme park that features six world-class festivals, more than 30 rides and attractions and a resident colony of one hundred renowned crafters.

Both Dollywood and SDC are recipients of the Applause Award, the most prestigious award within the amusement and theme park industry, which honors a park whose management, operations and creative accomplishments have inspired the industry with its foresight, originality and sound business development.
