Client Strategist

The Client Strategy Division at Empower ”owns” the relationship with our clients.  We work closely with our clients to develop key objectives, launch products, propose and analyze research, define targets, select markets, and evaluate ROI. We are ultimately accountable for all work that goes to the clients.  We collaborate with our clients’ other marketing partners.  Most client teams included a Client Strategy Director (reporting to an officer), one or more Client Strategists (reporting to a Director), and one or more entry-level Client Associates.  Client Strategists work on more than one account.

Client Strategist responsibilities include:
Regular, often daily contact with your clients.
Full strategic partnership with your clients, including target audience analysis, media market selection, test market development, research recommendations, competitive reports.
Participation in plan development (including collaboration with Empower’s Media Strategy professionals), as well as response to changing client needs.
Opportunities to help manager your accounts’ P&L statements.
Responsibility for managing or directing budgets, billing and other critical client reports.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2 years agency media experience
Experience with media software including qualitative databases, competitive systems, Reach/Frequency programs, and flowcharting.
Ability to discuss media fundamentals knowledgeably with the client.
Articulate, confident, and grammatical written and oral communication skills.
Significant experience with office software including e-mail and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated ability to navigate the Internet for research purposes.
Ability and interest in establishing and maintaining client and co-worker relationships and serving as main day-to-day client contact; track record as a team player.
Enthusiastic, passionate, curious, confident, and tenacious; willing to do whatever it takes to provide the highest level of client service.
Demonstrated superior listening and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to juggle/handle multiple priorities well.

Client Strategy Associate

Our successful CSA is strategic business partner contributing to the growth of the company by:
Providing superior client service.
Understanding & applying media concepts.
Assisting in the development & maintenance of clients’ media plans, including promotions.
Assisting other teams to meet client’s objectives.
Producing key results.

Day to day activities include:
Assists the Client Strategist in tracking budgets, flowcharts, etc. and recommends changes in response to strategic and/or budget changes.
Works with Client Strategist and Media Accounting in the prepa-ration and reconciliation of client and media invoices; as-sists with the client’s Profit & Loss accountability.
Works with Traffic department and creative agency to traffic broadcast instructions and address traffic issues.
Seeks opportunities to expand Empower relationship within current client relationships.
Coordinates all broadcast value added programs and works with the Client Strategist to merchandise to client.
Assists the Client Strategy team in providing clients with media and industry research trends as they relate to the client’s business and target markets.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising preferred.
Previous intern or co-op experience in Media Marketing a plus.
In-depth knowledge of office software such as e-mail, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to navigate the Internet for research purposes.
Ability and interest in establishing client and co-worker relationships and serving as main client contact.
Highly enthusiastic, passionate, curious, confident and tenacious in learning client business.
Demonstrated superior listening and creative problem resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Well-developed communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
Demonstrated initiative and assertive in asking questions.
