The Business Development (BD) Associate is an entry level opportunity to support the new business team by managing pursuit logistics and supporting prospecting efforts. The ideal individual will be extremely organized, with an eye for detail and enthusiasm for cross-team collaboration. The BD Associate is responsible for organizing pursuit materials, maintaining internal team documentation, researching and synthesizing prospect information and brand background, and supporting the BD team as they develop pursuit responses. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Business Development and is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure in a high-impact role. We are looking for someone with a love for process, balanced with an ability to think outside of the box and a positive, can-do attitude.


Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the RFI/RFP documentation process, including gathering and archiving proposal responses while learning the agency positioning and Empower way
  • Support the team in developing high quality, compelling written materials 
  • Organize and maintain BD documents on sharepoint and other internal databases 
  • Research prospects and develop executive-quality summaries of findings
  • Support the team in developing and documenting agency case studies


Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred)
  • Entry level position, but successful candidates will have an academic/internship record of successfully managing detailed projects through completion
  • Exceptional writing skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar
  • Proven leadership ability and interpersonal skills. Can work well independently as well as in cross-functional teams to formulate solutions to challenges. Natural relationship builder comfortable with interfacing with multiple stakeholders
  • Expert in Microsoft office suite, including extensive use of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Self-starter with the drive and organization to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment in escalating issues and proactively identifying issues before they arise
  • Desire to learn, grow, and contribute alongside a leading industry team
