Junior Analyst

Empower utilizes a broad array of proprietary, syndicated, and open-source analytic tools, methods, and data to provide best-in-class marketing recommendations and consulting services. In this support role, the junior analyst will work under the guidance and supervision of more senior analysts and agency colleagues to understand, develop and communicate findings. The day-to-day job function will depend on the skill-set successful applicants present and will include report formatting, data and excel workbook development, and communicating with other functional areas to understand data and measurement challenges and implement findings and insights. It is expected that work responsibilities will expand and develop in line with the candidate’s career objectives and capabilities.

The successful candidate:

  • Is nimble, curious, focused and a quick learner
  • Has the ability to juggle through multiple projects across clients while maintaining quality
  • Has the ability to work under direction and tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates solid communications and collaboration skills

Quantitative/data skills:

  • Solid mathematical or statistical educational background
  • Ability to “think-through” complicated tasks requiring sequential processing
  • Comfortable manipulating Excel workbooks, PowerPoint charting and other data formats to perform logical and mathematical operations with minimal direction
  • Ability to aggregate, analyze and interpret data from multiple data sources such as syndicated survey data, primary research and platform metrics. 
  • Microsoft suite (Outlook, Advance Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn syndicated tools (e.g., Tableau, Telmar, Datorama, Adobe Analytics) to perform routine data extraction, formatting, and basic descriptive analyses
  • Experience in R, Python, VBA or other programming languages is a plus
  • Web analytics (e.g. Google) is a plus

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (math, statistics, economics or other social science) or demonstrated facility in math and statistics
  • Located or willing to relocate to Cincinnati / Chicago
  • Minimal travel is required (0-10%)
