Empower (Empower) is seeking a Director, Client Operations to elevate the agency’s ability to deliver work in a best-in-class manner and help push the agency toward its long-term vision and goals. 


The ideal candidate would have online and offline media experience and be responsible for supporting cross-functional teams in execution of concurrent projects for multiple clients. The Director level role at Empower is a proactive problem solver who leads collaboration with clients while guiding and directing internal teams. The Director position is responsible for managing and in some cases overseeing the day-to-day client relationship in terms of managing scope of work, timelines, media budgets, development of contracts and the execution of work. 

Candidates must be willing to embrace change, have an innate comfort with multi-tasking and an avid learner with the ability to quickly pick up new concepts, tools and technologies.


  • Understand the fundamentals of Media Planning and Strategy, Media Buying, Account Management, and the agency environment
  • Co-lead  a book of business to drive work through the agency efficiently and effectively
  • Assume responsibility for managing, directing, and coordinating activities for Clients as well as direct reports
  • Facilitate project-related meetings (i.e. kick-offs, status, internal/client reviews, post-mortems, etc.) and clearly communicate project status, timelines, deliverables, goals, and expectations on a regular basis
  • Manage  traditional and digital media workflow and activities
  • Write statements of work, formulate estimates and timelines 
  • Ensure creative assets for media trafficking are received in accordance with timelines
  • Identify needs and risks that team members may not recognize
  • Accurately track and manage revenue projections and media budgets
  • Accurately track and manage estimated vs. actual hours to ensure a profitable rate
  • Communicate timely project status to the client, internal client teams, and agency leadership


  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in an account service or project management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in program/project management and the execution of multiple client projects
  • Proven experience with common project management tools and processes
  • Experience in agency environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of media planning and buying processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills
  • Proven success in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach
  • Ability to function independently, requiring limited direction
  • Motivated by new challenges and problems to solve on a daily basis
