The Intelligence Division at Empower is democratizing consumer intelligence, marketing science, and data. We inspire and enable game-changing insights and aspired to serve as a core source of truth for marketing impact across business, consumer, and the broader world community.

The VP, Intelligence Strategy & Activation is responsible for crafting and maintaining the overall strategy, program management, communications, and change management of all Intelligence initiatives. This is a formative opportunity to influence and innovate as a key leader of the Intelligence function. This includes promoting the success of Intelligence priorities by coaching leaders to create and implement effective programs, organization design, and communication plans for Intelligence strategy, governance, and technology. 

The Strategy & Activation Leader will share meaningful, consistent, and evolving points of view that highlight the capabilities and impact potential of the Intelligence team. The selected candidate will serve as a key connector across the company and will be part of the Intelligence executive communications. The person selected for this role will also work with various communications and operations colleagues across Empower to build their internal brand and drive awareness of the business impact that data delivers.

Key specific roles of the VP of Intelligence Strategy and Activation include: 

· Strategy activation and governance – Proactively bring forward Intelligence thought leadership and services to internal and external clients to ensure an ever-evolving strategy. Ensure best practices are being followed. Actively involved in key projects to ensure efficient activation of strategy when opportunities arise.

· Product Activation –Position and educate Empower internal and client teams on Intelligence product offerings 

· Elevating Partnerships – Be a leader in ensuring our key external data and technology partners are best-in-class and driving in line with our strategy.

· Staffing Optimization – Actively lead efforts to best align team skill sets with client needs. Partner on our cross-skills development and evolution of our career model. Serve as central partner with our agency operations team to ensure clear roles and responsibilities. 

· Promotion/Merchandising – Merchandising is a big part of the role in ensuring our world-class work is recognized. This role serves as a central enabler of thought leadership, internal communications, case studies, awards, etc.

· Corporate Data Literacy and Skill Development – Lead development of training programs that will enable broader and more robust use of Intelligence in insight development.

· New Business – Serve as a key leader and participant in new business, representing the full suite of Intelligence services (Consumer Intelligence, Marketing Science, Data Solutions)

The successful candidate has the following expertise:

· Analytic Chops: Significant expertise across marketing research, analytics, and data technologies. Experience structuring analyses to get the most accurate read. Knowledge of statistical significance and ability to ensure and communicate relative confidence and risk levels. 

· Modern Marketing Strategy: Strong familiarity with full-funnel marketing strategy, especially advertising across the consumer journey. 

· Marketing Science and Measurement: Experience developing and leading measurement frameworks. Digital and offline measurement experience, including experience with of many types of audience and behavioral data (e.g., Digital Clickstream, Foursquare, Acxiom, etc.) and Measurement Research (E.g., Kantar, Brand Health Trackers, etc.). Experience with marketing mix modeling/econometric analysis, multi-touch attribution, and experimentation. 

· Data Strategy: Experience developing or contributing to Data Strategy and knowledge of 2nd and transparent 3rd party data sources and tools for the purposes of data partnerships and audience building. 

· Quantitative Consumer Research: Experience in designing and leveraging custom primary research to uncover unique insights. Strong familiarity and appreciation, if not experience, with brand research, product research, message and creative concept research, and broader consumer segmentations.

Additional Qualifications & Requirements:

· 12+ years of experience working across marketing strategy and analytics with 5+ years in a leadership position.

· Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, social sciences, finance, creative or business/marketing fields desired. MBA is nice to have.

· Marketing agency and/or consulting experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of CPG and Retail industries is a plus.

· Experience in the Commerce space is a plus

· Located or willing to relocate to Cincinnati / Chicago / Atlanta

· Travel up to 25%
