A nightly series of public art projections earning millions of impressions.
Empower took over Chicago with three impressive street art installations.
The climatic finale was projected on the 2.5 acre river-façade of theMART. Art on theMART is the largest permanent digital art projection in the world.
The largest theatrical producer in the world tapped Empower to launch its new show in Chicago. Set in an urban environment and inspired by street fashion and culture, it was the company’s most contemporary show to date.
How could we make the performance stand out in a city of options and attractions?
Street art. It has the power to interrupt our daily commute with something beautiful, abstract or provocative. Empower transformed Chicago’s most popular urban neighborhoods of Lakeview, West Loop and Wicker Park with a nightly series of public art projections interweaving scenes from the show with custom 3D art. A QR code led people to the show’s ticketing page and street teams complemented efforts. This experiential series ended with a grand Art on theMART finale projecting across a 2.5-acre façade.
Our experiential street art series sparked intrigue from more than just the neighborhood. Garnering headlines in Chicago Tribune, Chicago Business Journal, MediaPost and landing The Drum’s US Creative Work of the Week, our experience generated 15 million impressions.
“We are celebrating art through art,” explains Hilary Burns, vice president and general manager of Empower’s Chicago office. “When done well, street art has the power to interrupt our daily commute with something beautiful, abstract or provocative. This experiential concept is further proof of Empower’s Creative and Media hybrid offering coming to life under one roof,” Burns said.
