Top Independent Creative Media Agency Hires Advertising Veteran Hilary Burns to Lead Market
CHICAGO (February 13, 2019) – Empower, The Creative Media Agency headquartered in Cincinnati, opens its doors in Chicago with the hire of seasoned-advertising executive Hilary Burns as vice president and general manager. A 25-year agency veteran, Burns will lead Empower’s booming Chicago business unit, overseeing notable clients including Cirque Du Soleil, V-Tech, Dremel and Rust-Oleum.

Prior to Empower, Burns worked at VMLY&R as group director of client engagement, leading the Conagra digital commerce business. Her agency roster also includes SapientRazorfish, Cramer-Krasselt, BBDO and JWT. After years of working at large agencies, the Gold Effie winner recognized the advantages of joining an independent firm.

Burns is joined by Director of Integration, Diana Patterson to help grow Empower’s Chicago presence and serve the agency’s client portfolio. She was recently recruited from Starcom where she served as associate media director, where she focused her efforts on media strategy for Lowe’s. She comes to Empower with a robust retail background.
“My role is to be the glue that binds everything together into a seamless creative-media ecosystem for our clients,” said Patterson.
