Responsible for all finance, accounting, management information systems, media billings and treasury functions, Mel has more than 20 years of finance experience including strategic financial business planning, management accounting, capital budgeting and project planning, internal controls and process improvement.  

 Mel graduated from Miami University with a degree in accounting and as an experienced finance leader with a demonstrated history of working in the management consulting industry, she has held numerous financial and accounting roles at 84.51, dunnhumby USA and Nielsen.  

 Mel landed at Empower in 2021 to lead the finance, accounting and IT functions. A “numbers” girl, Mel is also a creative thinker, constantly encouraging fresh thinking throughout the company. She motivates people to come up with ideas that not only contribute to Empower’s ongoing growth and success but also that help build our clients’ business. 

 Outside of Empower, you might find this dog-lover and her husband catching a hockey game, checking out new local restaurants and breweries, or enjoying time with their children (both two-legged and four-legged).
